DS begins 3 month lecture tour
Interest from international associations and media
Following the hunger strike, Doria traveled to a series of countries on a lecture tour that lasted 3 months. Her travels took her to Italy, Great Britain, France, USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Pakistan, India and Ceylon. In each country she brought the story of the Egyptian woman, the struggles of the Egyptian Women’s movements and the challenges that still remained. She was met with huge interest by both the associations she was addressing as well as each country’s media, who were impressed with this sophisticated, elegant Middle Eastern woman, bringing messages of modernity and enlightenment.
